Asian handicap

Asian Handicap betting reduces the possible number of outcomes from three (in traditional 1X2 wagering) to two by eliminating the draw outcome.

Whole handicaps

A team has an advantage of 0, 1, or more goals. In the event of a draw you get your stake back (push bet). Here are two examples:

HANDICAP 0 :0

The simplest form of handicap, you bet on the winning team.

HANDICAP 0 :1

The away team has an advantage of 1 points, so the home team must win by 2 goals or more. If the score is 1 - 1 you get your stake back.

Fractional handicaps

Fractional handicaps eliminate the possibility of draws since no one can score a half-goal.

HANDICAP 0 :1/2 (or +0.5)

The away team has a half point advantage over the home team. If you bet on the home team it must win by at least one goal. (1 - 0.5).

HANDICAP 0: 1 1/2 (or +1.5)

The away team has an advantage of 1 and a half goals, so the home team must win by at least 2 goals. For example, if the score is 3 - 2 it's calculated as 3 - 3.5 and you lose your bet on the home team. If the score is 4 - 2 or 2 - 0 you win.

Quarter Goal or Two Way Handicaps

Quarter handicaps split the bet between the two next closest 1/4 intervals. For example, betting on 1 3/4 means your stake is split in half between a bet on 1 1/2 and 2. With quarter handicaps you can win and tie or lose and tie (get half of your stake back). The 1/4 goal handicap may be expressed by some bookmakers as "0 and 1/2".

HANDICAP 0 :1 /4

This is a combination of 0 :0 and 1/2 handicaps. You play a 0 :0 handicap with half of your stake and a +1/2 handicap with the other half. You bet half of your stake on the away team winning and half on the away team winning by at least a half goal. If the score is 0 - 0, you win the 1/2 bet and get the other half of your stake pushed back because of the draw.

HANDICAP 0 :1 3/4

This is a combination of 1 1/2 (or 1.5) and 2 handicaps for the home team. The stake is split between the two handicaps. In order to win both bets the home team must win by at least 3 goals. For example, you bet on away team and the final score is 1 - 0. The handicapped scores would be: 1 - 1.5 and 1 - 2 so you win both bets. If the final score is 4 - 2, the handicapped scores are 4 - 3.5 and 4 - 4, so you get half of your stake back.
