England - The Championship

Crystal Palace are back in the Premier League after an eight-year wait after winning this afternoon's playoff final against Watford...

Crystal Palace have been promoted to the Premier League after beating Watford 1-0 after extra-time in a tense playoff final at Wembley.

The Eagles were matched at a high of 65.0 in the Championship Promotion market when they lost their first three games of the season, but they then traded as low as 1.8 as they mounted a promotion charge.

But promotion looked a distant dream when Ian Holloway's men went nine games without a win at the end of the regulation season before they scraped a 3-2 win over Peterborough on the final day of the season.

Palace then defeated in-form Brighton in the playoff semi-finals before today's dramatic final victory.

The game itself wasn't a great spectacle but undoubtedly Palace were the better side, only Watford goalkeeper Manuel Almunia keeping The Hornets in the game. The Full-Time 0-0 Draw was matched at 13.0 In-Play, while the Draw in 90 minutes was matched at 3.6.

The Eagles finally got the goal their play deserved when veteran striker Kevin Phillips converted a penalty at the end of the first half of extra-time.

Watford pushed forward as the minutes ticked by, and only a last minute goal-line clearance prevented them from drawing level. But today belonged to Crystal Palace and the playoff victory - worth an estimated £120m over the next few years - was theirs.

Palace were matched at a high of 6.6 to win in Extra Time, while the Palace/Extra-Time option in the Method of Victory market was matched at 17.0.

Crystal Palace are yet to be introduced to the Premier League 2013/14 Winner market but rest assured that when they are they will be available to back at the maximum price of 1000.0.

Manchester United are the 3.3 favourites to retain their title, with Manchester City (3.4) and Chelsea (3.5) close behind.
