Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears: NFC North title at stake

Luca Bercelli previews Sunday's early live game between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears...

We're right into the business end of the season now and all you'll be hearing for the next couple of weeks is play-off scenario this, and play-off scenario that. As usual there are a million and one things still to be decided but the fact that the Bears might not even be part of the equation is a possibility that was unthinkable a few weeks back.

Da Bears were cruising happily at the head of the division for most of the season but injuries and a resulting dip in form have seen them slide into second place on the back of a disasterous run of four losses from their last five starts.

Their early success was built on a top-notch defence marshalled by the outstanding Brian Urlacher. The linebacker is one of the best players in the league and very much the guiding influence of the Chicago defence. To lose him to injury for the rest of the regular season is a blow that I, for one, don't think the team can recover from.

Green Bay are one of the last teams you want to be matched up with if you're not 100% confident of your defensive schemes, but if they are coming to town on the back of seven wins from eight it's definitely group prayer time before kick-off.

In Aaron Rodgers the Pack have a bona fide stud at quarterback, a very difficult man to pin down for long (although surprisingly he's the most sacked QB in the league). He can make almost anything happen and that includes spinning his wheels (NFL speak for scrambling), for valuable yardage.

One of his favourite targets, Jordy Nelson, had to sit out last week's win against Detroit but is a possibility to return on sunday along with defensive sack-machine Clay Matthews. If one of these two make it on to the field, it's bad news for the Bears, if they both suit up it's adios play-offs.

A win clinches the division for Green Bay for the second year running and that's incentive enough for them to come through in what is always a tough fixture. Back them on the outright 1.64 and also to win a tight one by either 1-6 points @ 4.0 or 7-12 points @ 4.0.
