Horse Racing: Geraghty eyes Boxing Day hat-trick

Barry Geraghty is targeting a third success in Boxing Day's King George VI Chase at Kempton.

The leading jockey triumphed on Kicking King in 2004 and 2005, and is 5/1 with bet365 to win this year on Riverside Theatre, the stablemate of Long Run. "I was lucky enough to win it twice on Kicking King and it's a great race. It's the highlight over the Christmas (period), on both sides of the water," Geraghty told the BBC. Geraghty added that Long Run is doing well and says he is relishing battling with Kauto Star's old adversary. "The vibes are good," he said. "They say he's improved from his run at Haydock (in the Betfair Chase) and he wouldn't have a big issue with soft ground, so he's going to be the one they all have to beat."
