The 'Juddernaut' looked set for world domination when winning the UK title at the end of 2011, just months after losing a classic final here to John Higgins, but it hasn't worked out that way. Trump's game fell apart in defeat to Ali Carter here 12 months ago and this season has gone badly awry after a good start. He hasn't reached a final since the Bulgarian Masters last November, losing to a string of unseeded players he would roll over if anywhere near his best. Rather than any lack of talent, Judd's vulnerability stems from too much reliance on his often awesome long potting. When they go in, he can blow anyone away in quick time. If they don't, he invariably loses the tactical battle.
