Lambert demands instant Villa response

Paul Lambert says his Aston Villa players must make amends for their drubbing at Chelsea when they face Spurs on Boxing Day.

Villa had seemed to have turned a corner after defeating Liverpool at Anfield but were thrashed 8-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and are now 4/1 with bet365 to be relegated. Lambert is urging his players to return to winning ways on Wednesday. He told the club's official website: "That will be a wake-up call for us, that. Things have been going really fine for us. It was only Manchester United, Man City and Chelsea now who have turned us over. We will bounce back! "We only have two days to mull over it but we have to go again against Tottenham on Wednesday. I am sure whoever plays on Wednesday will atone for that."
