Premier League on Betfair: Spurs blow it at Anfield as Liverpool land 10-1 come-from-behind win

England - Premier League

There was a minor Premier League classic at Anfield today as Liverpool and Spurs went toe-to-toe with the home side landing the knockout blow. Are Spurs about to stumble in the league?

Tottenham's 12 game unbeaten record was broken by Liverpool in a rollercoaster game at Anfield today.

After the joy of beating Arsenal last weekend and Inter Milan in midweek this was a stark reminder that the hard work is not yet done for Spurs.

Liverpool opened the scoring through Luis Suarez - the Uruguayan is now 1.55 to finish at top scorer - only to see Tottenham reply through Jan Vertonghen's header.

And the Belgian defender was on the mark again after halftime to shoot Spurs into a lead.

But goals from Stewart Downing, who took advantage of a calamitous passback from Kyle Walker, and Steven Gerrard Suarez from the spot after Suarez was felled by Benoit Assou-Ekotto ensured the points remained at Anfield. That goal saw 3-2 final score backers rewarded at 42.0.

The Reds traded at a high of 10.5 to win, while Spurs touched 1.53 and the draw 1.56 as the game tilted back and forth between all three results.

Spurs have eased to 1.5 in the top four finish market.

In the early kick-off, Newcastle picked up a handy win to ease any lingering relegation worries thanks to a last-minute Papiss Cisse goal at St James' Park.

Visitors Stoke looked to have broken a long spell of poor form when taking the lead midway through the second-half thanks to a Jon Walters penalty.

But replies from Yohann Cabaye shortly after and Cisse, who scored two minutes into injury time, sealed the win. Newcastle were backed in-play at 16.0, while Stoke touched 1.57. The 2-1 final score traded at a high of 40.0.
