Three games to glory

The quarter-finals are the round where teams can begin to smell success. It is also the round where teams fear to dream as well. Just two wins away from the final and three wins away from the title. However this is easier said than done because the opposition is now becoming far tougher to beat. For example England have to play Italy followed by the winner of Germany vs Greece.

If that turns out to be Germany then that will be a really tough way to reach the final. We can also safely assume that a world class side awaits in the final. Likewise in the other half of the draw as well where Spain play France and then the winner of Czech Republic and Portugal. So France for example could meet Spain followed by Portugal just to reach the final which is very tough.

So the last eight is the round where teams start to believe that they have a chance of winning but yet six out of those eight teams will not even reach the final and their hopes will have been dashed. Spain are still in with a great chance of making history and becoming the first team to ever win three consecutive tournaments. If Spain can achieve that then this could make them the greatest international team in history.
