PSG - Barcelona

Bajnokok Ligája

PSG looked quite confident in both games against Valencia in the previous round. They currently lead the french Ligue 1 with a solid 7 point margin. They have a first class squad, but their biggest strength is their offense, with a lot of fast players who also don`t need many chances to score (for example: Ezequiel Lavezzi, Jeremy Menez, Gameiro, Javier Pastore or Zlatan Ibrahimovic). UEFA permitted Zlatan Ibrahimovic to play, deleted his previous ban, PSG's appeal had been accepted, so Ibrahimovic will play the first leg it has just been confirmed.

Barcelona look to be back on track, after they managed to overturn the 0:2 defeat against Milan in Italy. Their defence looks poor recently. There will surely miss Carles Puyol and the FIFA virus strikes again: Jordi Alba got injured after the game with Finland, won't play in the weekend La Liga game and he is doubtful for this Champions League game. Xavi came back to Barcelona with some pain after the game in Frace, in the same area of his previous injury so he will also be out for the championship game and also doubtful for the game in Paris. Also it's important to know that coach Tito Vilanova is back and he will be coaching Barcelona tomorrow, in my opinion this is a big factor. Tito is the heart and soul of Barcelona.

Barcelona did not look that solid at the defensive-end in the recent weeks. PSG is aware that they have to win their home game, as they just saw that a 2-0 home win of Milan was not enough. Barcelona on the other hand won`t change their style of play and they surely got also enough power upfront to score at least once. Both teams are able to score at least once, but I think value is on PSG 1X like in the previous round against Milan. In Barcelona both injured player (Puyol, Jordi Alba) at defence would be big blows.
