Premier League on Betfair: Late goals take Villa clear of relegation zone and on way to 64-1 win

England - Premier League

Paul Lambert's men pick up a rare win to ease relegation worries while Manchester United tighten to 1.06 for the title after beating Everton

It was big day both at the top and the bottom of the Premier League table with Manchester United and Aston Villa scoring huge wins to knock their rivals in the title and relegation battles.

The drama was largely at Villa Park where the home fans cheered only the third league win of the campaign as Paul Lambert's young side pulled themselves out of the relegation zone. Villa now trade at 2.02 to go down.

Locked at 0-0 for more than an hour, the game sprang to life on 74 minutes when Mark Noble felled Charles N'Zogbia to gift the home team a penalty which was tucked away by Christian Benteke. And N'Zogbia capped a fine day with the second just four minutes later as Villa eased towards a very valuable win.

But Lambert's side have been on a terrible run and the nerves struck when Ashley Westwood headed past Brad Guzan with just three minutes of normal time left. West Ham pushed hard but couldn't make it tell.

The late goal rush rewarded in-play punters who took big prices in a range of markets - the 2-1 final score was backed at 65.0 while over 2.5 goals traded at 30.0.

Manchester United kept it simple in the late kick-off, scoring twice in the first half as they beat Everton 2-0. United are now just 1.06 to win the title following Manchester City's surprise defeat at Southampton on Saturday.

Robin van Persie scored his 19th goal of the campaign during the win and now trades at 1.75 to win the Golden Boot.

Everton are now 9.4 to finish in the top four.
