Europe League: Lazio - Fenerbache

Europa Liga

Lazio is playing changefully at the moment getting mixed results lately. However, they are playing solid at home winning 7 out of 9 games. Lazio comes after a tough game against Roma where they managed to lead, then missing a penalty before Totti equalized from penalty and they received a red card which limited their chances of winning. Now they will not have the support of their home fans as this will be the second match they have to play without their supporters after they were handed a ban. Coach Vladimir Petkovic believes his side still has it to beat Fenerbahce despite without crowd support and playing in front of an empty stadium will not affect them as they are used to it. Only Ogenyi Onazi will miss the derby because of his ban.

Fenerbache carry a two goals advantage from the first leg at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium through a Pierre Webo penalty and a late Dirk Kuyt score. There is a statistic data, which will be important: they have lost all six matches they have played in Italy by two goals or more whenever they paid a visit, but now they will want to create history tonight. They have only ever reached the quarter-final stage in any UEFA competition and will now want to progress a step further to the semi-finals stage at Lazio's expense.

Lazio could win this game, but they will need to score at least 2 goals to level the aggregate score, and at the same time not concede at the back. If Fenerbahce can keep the game low, and field a strong defensive side, that they should expect a draw. With Webo and Baroni scoring most of their goals, I don't expect to score in the match. All in all, hope for a close one, and expect a defensive game, with a narrow Lazio win.
