Toulouse's scoring duo to strike again

Ligue1

The title race is over after PSG were crowned champions last weekend but there are still betting opportunities in the French League this weekend, writes James  Eastham...

Sochaux v Toulouse (14th v 10th) Sat, 20:00 BST

Toulouse are far from prolific scorers but their form going into the game makes Both Teams to Score a good pick.

In Eden Ben Basat and Wissam Ben Yedder the visitors have two of the best penalty box finishers in the division, and both look sharp. Ben Basat scored an excellent  goal at Marseille (2-1 defeat) last weekend to take his tally to 12 in 28 games this season, while Ben Yedder (13 goals for the season) has netted four times in his  last six starts.

With those two in excellent form Toulouse are a good bet to score this weekend, especially as Sochaux have conceded in 15 of their 18 home games this season.

Like Toulouse, Sochaux are a good bet to score - they're not yet safe from relegation so have plenty to play for and as well as conceding in 15 out of 18 home games  they have scored in 15 out of 18 home games, too.

Recommended Bet: Both Teams to Score @1.88

Troyes v Bordeaux (19th v 8th) Sat, 20:00 BST

The stats and form figures point towards a high-scoring encounter at Stade de l'Aube on Saturday night.

Troyes' matches have been among the highest-scoring in the division - 18 out of 36 have featured over 2.5 goals, with the average goals-per-game count 2.78. And they have to play to win because they're three points from safety with two games to go so need all three points to stand a chance of keeping alive their hopes of staying in the division.

Bordeaux are tucked away with nothing to play for in mid-table but individually players are competing for a place in the French Cup final against Evian at Stade de  France on May 31. Dour and defensive for much of the season, Bordeaux have thrown off the shackles and shown they can play decent attacking football in recent weeks -  five of their last seven games in all competitions have featured over 2.5 goals, with the average goals-per-game count in those matches 3.29.

With Troyes compelled to attack and Bordeaux defensively more vulnerable but keener to get into the final third at the moment than they have been for much of the  season, goals is the smart way to play. 'Yes' in the Both Teams to Score? market and Over 2.5 Goals are worth considering at 1.85 and 2.1 respectively.

Recommended Bet: Over 2.5 Goals @2.1

Rennes v Ajaccio (12th v 15th) Sat, 20:00 BST

The end of the season cannot come fast enough for a Rennes side that stopped being competitive months ago.

With little to play for since early spring and coach Frederic Antonetti's departure at the end of the campaign confirmed last month, the Brittany outfit have been  going through the motions. This is reflected in their appalling form: they go into this game on a run of seven defeats from their last eight matches.

Rennes' form increases Ajaccio's chances of getting a point that would be useful in the visitors' bid to avoid relegation (they're four points above the bottom three  with two games to go). Ajaccio are worth considering at 3.15 to win or +0 Asian Handicap at 2.15.

The other bet to consider is Under 2.5 Goals. Ajaccio will look to keep it tight as long as possible and Rennes' poor scoring form suggests the Corsicans have a good  chance of doing exactly that: Antonetti's hosts have scored just four times in their last eight games, failing to find the net in five of those matches.

Recommended Bet: Under 2.5 Goals @1.85
