Back Everton to frustrate Fergie

Andrew Hughes thinks Everton can pick up a valuable point at Old Trafford on Sunday and help land a cross-sport multiple in the process...

Betfair now gives you the facility to mix and match your multiples across a huge range of sports and markets with the easy-to-use betslip and so each weekend I've been  putting together a cross-sport treble with the aim of showing the way to maximise your profits.

Bet 1: Back Manchester United to draw with Everton at 3.8

Manchester United's statistics are imposing to say the least: nine straight home wins, an unbeaten run of thirteen games, and nineteen wins out of the last twenty-one  matches. They have a good home record against Everton and as an added bonus, Alex Ferguson will have more or less a full squad to pick from, with the return to fitness  of Ashley Young, Phil Jones and Michael Carrick.

But their Sunday opponents are the toughest team to break down in the Premier League. Everton have lost just three league games since last March, but have drawn  sixteen of those thirty-four games and six of the last nine away from home. They will draw strength from the memory of their remarkable 4-4 draw at Old Trafford last  season and with the home side nine points clear and facing a vital Champions League game on Wednesday, Everton can take advantage of any United complacency.

Bet 2: Back England to beat Ireland at 1.9

Ireland have a good record against their fiercest rivals in the Six Nations and after their impressive performance at the Millennium Stadium last week, the Irish will  fancy their chances of making it two from two on Sunday.

The key to this game could be the first thirty minutes. Ireland have made a habit of staging an early onslaught, and if England are not fully switched on, they could  find themselves swept aside, as the Welsh were last week.

But this is an England side full of confidence, and resolute in defence. They were too powerful for Scotland last weekend, and, unlike the Irish, are at full strength.  The absence of key men like Stephen Ferris and Paul O'Connell could ultimately be the difference in this game and I fancy England to edge a tight contest in Dublin.

Bet 3: Back Mikael Dhaguenet to win the 2:10 at Naas at 1.9

Former Graded hurdler Mikael Dhaguenet hasn't always looked convincing since returning to fences this season, but his record of two wins from four outings is a big  improvement on his previous chasing form, and could have been even better. He was unlucky not to win on his debut and was closing well on the leader when falling five  out in a Grade 2 at Limerick on Boxing Day.

The nine-year-old has entries in the RSA Chase and the Jewson Novices' Chase at Cheltenham, and he should be able to overcome some useful but limited opponents at Naas  on Sunday. Buckers Bridge has the most potential in the field, but was tailed off on his second outing in December. Miradane won an ordinary Beginners Chase in  September but has not been seen since, and Cootamundra has not looked fluent in four outings over fences this season
