Balotelli to be given chance to impress

Mario Balotelli looks set to be given the chance to resurrect his Manchester City career by being handed a starting place for this weekend's FA Cup third round clash against Watford.

 

The Italian striker has not featured in Roberto Mancini's plans since being substituted in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United on 9th December. AC Milan continue to be linked with the 22-year-old but Mancini is ready to throw the player yet another lifeline. City, who won the FA Cup two seasons ago and are 9/2 with bet365 to clinch the trophy this term, will put out a strong team against the Hornets, and Balotelli, who is 9/2 to open the scoring, will be challenged to lead the assault. Assistant boss David Platt said: "Mario has had two or three days training and will have another few days before the game with Watford. There is every chance he will be available for selection."
