Carroll to make right West Ham headlines

England - Premier League

With so many exciting fixtures in the Premier League this weekend, Christian Crowther uses the Opta Stats to pick out four potential headline makers...

QPR v Stoke (Saturday, 15:00)

QPR striker Loic Remy has scored in four of his last six appearances for QPR in the Premier League and in both of QPR's last two games at Loftus Road

Whether or not QPR's French striker stays to play in the Championship next season remains to be seen. In all likelihood his last goal will linger in the minds of R's fans a lot longer than he will stay at Loftus Road. Still, what a remarkable strike that was against Wigan, just unfortunate for Rangers that it was not the winner. Remy has looked sharper and sharper with the passing weeks and should trouble freefalling Stoke.

Recommended Bet: Back Loic Remy to score @ 2.7

Swansea v Southampton (Saturday, 15:00)

Michu has scored a higher percentage of his team's goals than any other player in the Premier League (39%)

While Michu's star is shimmering a little less brightly than it was earlier in the season, when he was banging in goals left, right and centre, the Spaniard arrives off the back of a goal in each of his last two starts. 21 goals from just 38 appearances in his debut season in England is a phenomenal return. If he gets another against the Saints, it will represent the third time he's notched in three consecutive games this campaign.

Recommended Bet: Back Michu to score @ 2.5

West Brom v Newcastle (Saturday, 15:00)

Papiss Demba Cisse has scored three and assisted one in his two Premier League appearances against WBA; against no other side has the Senegalese striker scored more often

These are worrying times for Geordie fans. Newcastle's humiliating loss at home to Sunderland leaves them precariously close to the drop zone with some tricky fixtures still to come. If they are to paddle away from danger then this man, Cisse, is sure to have a say though. Cisse has scored three goals in his last four games in all competitions and clearly relishes a dual with the Baggies.

Recommended Bet: Back Papiss Cisse to score @ 3.0

West Ham v Wigan (Saturday, 15:00)

Andy Carroll has been involved in four goals (three goals, one assist) in his last three Premier League appearances

West Ham's loan star will hope to be making headlines for the right reasons after this clash (apologies) with Wigan. Carroll's rather foolhardy challenge on David De Gea actually detracted from another fine performance in claret and blue by the former Newcastle striker, even putting in a vital block in his own box near the end. Still, he's paid to score goals and that's something he finally looks like doing again, especially at Upton Park, where West Ham are at their most threatening.

Best Bet: Back Andy Carroll to score @ 2.7
