Chelsea backed to spend big

Interim Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez expects the Blues to splash the cash in the summer as they bid for further silverware next season.

Benitez was speaking after helping his current employers to Europa League glory, with the Spaniard expecting Jose Mourinho to return to the Stamford Bridge helm, armed with major funds to strengthen his squad. Benitez told Spanish radio station Onda Cero: "What I am sure about is that next season Chelsea will be much better, because they will spend £100million and they will sign three or four players. "The foundation is already there, the future is bright for them." Chelsea are 11/4 with bet365 to win the Premier League title next season, having ensured a top-four finish this term. However, they still need to win on the final day of the season at home to Everton to make sure of third place, which would secure a place in the group stage of the Champions League.
