Copa del Goals

Copa Del Rey

Zaragoza take a one goal lead into tonight's second leg of their Copa del Rey tie against Levante, and while it's expected to be low scoring, Paul Robinson thinks we could be in for fireworks.

Two winners in a row have kicked the week off in style and I hope to make it three this evening over in Spain.

Real Zaragoza pulled off a shock by winning the first leg of this tie in Levante, but since then they've gone on to lose two of their next three and have slumped to defeats in their last trio at home. Interestingly, these two have met in La Liga since the cup game and Levante ran out 1-0 winners at La Romareda.

It's goals what we're interested in though and four of Manolo Jiménez's sides last eight at home have gone over 2.5, with two going over 3.5 and the 5-3 victory against Deportivo going over 7.5.

Levante are doing well in La Liga and are through to the knockout stage of the Europa League as well. The Copa del Rey is not a high priority for them and that showed in the match at Zaragoza as they didn't put out a full strength line up.

With a morning kick off against Real Betis to come on Sunday, I again don't expect Juan Ignacio Martínez to pick his best side, but they still have players who can score goals. The 3-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano broke a run of four of netting away from home, and two of their last four have gone over 2.5.

This selection could hinge on the initial exchanges as if we can get an early goal to go in, the floodgates could open. With under 2.5 trading as low as 1.8 I'm willing to take the chance on that happening, and that's why I'm making it my lay of the day.
