Golf: Mickelson hits top form

Phil Mickelson, 9/1 with bet365 to win a fourth Masters title this year, has already hit top form in winning the Phoenix Open by six shots.

The 2004, 2006 and 2010 Green Jacket winner came close to shooting a 59 during his victory at TPC Scottsdale, with a new driver helping Mickelson feel good about his game early in the season. "I think that sets the tone for the rest of the year, because I really started to play well," Mickelson said. "I played really good golf. "This is how I've been playing for a while and it feels really good to get that golf out of me when I'm at a big tournament." Mickelson has finished in the top three at Augusta on a further five occasions to his three victories. Twelve months ago he finished in a four-way tie for third place, two shots adrift of eventual winner Bubba Watson, who edged out Louis Oosthuizen in a play-off.
