Winner of three of the last six renewals, nobody has better recent Crucible pedigree than the 'Wizard of Wishaw and on his best form, Higgins would deserve favouritism. The jury, however, remains out on whether he's still the same force. Higgins has struggled for consistent form since an emotionally charged performance to land his fourth world title two years ago. On occasion, his form this season has been as scintillating as ever, most memorably when overhauling Trump in the Shanghai Masters final, hitting the first of two recent 147s along the way. He hasn't reached any of the 2013 finals though, notably struggling to sink long pots.
