England - Premier League

Roberto Martinez thinks Wigan Athletic can avoid relegation this season because the players are committed to the cause.

The Latics reached the FA Cup Final by easing to victory against Millwall at the weekend and are 10/3 with bet365 to beat Manchester City at Wembley next month. But they remain embroiled in the dog-fight towards the foot of the table and are 13/8 to be relegated from the Premier League this season. Martinez has faith in his players to lift the club away from danger though, saying: "Players are desperate to help the team. There are no individual cases, from now until the end of the season it is about what we do as a football club. "There is a bigger role than playing or not playing. We have players who are fully aware of what they need to bring to the team. "I think it is important to make sure we don't overload certain players but people are very committed. There is a real sense of the group and what the team needs."
