Neil Robertson: 8.2

Provisional World Ranking: 5

Masters form 2008-12: L16/Q/L16/Q/W

Although provisionally ranked down at number five and without a ranking title this year, there is an argument that the former world and defending Masters champion has become the man to beat in the majors. Robertson looked an improved player at Alexandra Palace 12 months ago, combining the ideal attributes of fluent break-building and matchplay expertise, and brought a similar imperious standard to the World and UK Championships. On both counts, he could be considered a tad unlucky to have bumped into an outrageous performance, losing to a peak O'Sullivan in the former and a remarkable Selby comeback in the latter. Retaining his title, however, will be that bit harder after being drawn against 2011 champion Ding Junhui first up.
