Opta Stats: Agbonlahor the man to boost Villa hopes

11May 2013

England - Premier League

It's time for Christian Crowther to pick out four more Premier League net finders from the weekend's Opta stats...

Aston Villa v Chelsea (Saturday, 12.45, Sky Sports 1)

Gabriel Agbonlahor has scored six goals in his last seven Premier League games

While his partner in crime Christian Benteke goes about grabbing all the award nominations, Agbonlahor has been busy breaking all-time Aston Villa Premier League scorer records. The ex-England man has been in inspired form of late, culminating in a match-winning brace at Norwich last Saturday. Playing on the left of that potent Villa front three, Agbonlahor has electric pace and the ability to lose his marker and ghost into central areas.

Best Bet: Back Gabriel Agbonlahor to score @ 4.0

Fulham v Liverpool (Sunday, 15:00)

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has netted three times against Liverpool in the Premier League. All three came in September 2010 when Man Utd won 3-2 at Old Trafford

Fulham may get no better opportunity to beat Liverpool in the Premier League than this. The Reds are reminiscent of a jellyfish as they travel to London without their spine of Daniel Agger, Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez, all missing through injury or suspension. They have little to play for either, whereas Fulham must gain at least one more point from their last two games to be absolutely guaranteed safety.

Recommended Bet: Back Dimitar Berbatov to score @ 3.55

Norwich City v West Brom (Sunday, 15:00)

Romelu Lukaku is the youngest player to score 10+ goals in Europe's big five leagues this season. This game comes the day before his 20th birthday

West Brom's loan striker is one of many talented compatriots to have given the Premier League a distinguishable Belgian flavour this season. He may yet be rejoining one such gifted countryman, Eden Hazard, next season but, for now, Steve Clarke will want to squeeze as much out of the striker as possible, should they lose him in the summer. Lukaku bagged the winner when these sides met earlier in the season.

Recommended Bet: Back Romelu Lukaku to score @ 3.0

Manchester United v Swansea (Sunday, 16:00, Sky Sports 1)

Robin van Persie has scored six times in his last five appearances

With the Premier League and its top scorer title in the bag already, you may be forgiven for thinking that van Persie doesn't have much left to play for. On the contrary, prolific scorers such as the Dutchman never stop in their search for more goals and this is no ordinary dead rubber fixture. The United players will be jumping over one another to mark Sir Alex Ferguson's swansong with a goal for the great man.

Recommended Bet: Back Robin van Persie to score @ 1.75
