Opta Stats: Southampton v West Ham

13Apr 2013

England - Premier League

Having spent the bulk of the season near the relegation zone, Southampton have leap-frogged West Ham and are looking towards a top-half finish. Can the Hammers stop  their momentum?

After three draws in the first five Barclays Premier League meetings between Southampton and West Ham, only one of the last 16 has ended level. The Double Chance  result of either a home or away win is available at 1.32.

The Hammers have only won one of their last 10 away league games against the Saints (D3 L6). Southampton are 1.95 to win the game.

West Ham are the only Premier League team to have lost every game they have fallen behind in (10 matches) away from home in 2012-13. The Southampton half- time/Southampton full-time result can be backed at 3.2.

The Saints have lost a league-high 22 points in games that they have scored the first goal in this season. West Ham are 18.0 to win from behind.

Southampton have benefited from more goals from English players (32) than any other team in the top-flight this term. Rickie Lambert is available at 2.3 to score.

Mauricio Pochettino's side have won their last three Premier League games; they have not won four in a row in the top-flight since March 2001 under Glenn Hoddle (five  wins). You can lay a SOuthampton win at 1.96.

Jay Rodriguez has scored in three successive top-flight appearances for the first time in his career. Rodriguez is 2.7 to score.

If only second-halves counted, West Ham would be second-bottom on 30 points, four adrift of safety (Reading bottom on 27). Southampton are 2.2 to win the second-half.

Jussi Jääskeläinen has made 134 saves this season, at least 14 more than any other goalkeeper. A West Ham clean sheet is available at 5.3.
