British number two Laura Robson has revealed that her aim is to follow in Andy Murray's footsteps and reach Grand Slam finals.

The 18-year-old, who was included in the world's top 50 for the first time in her career on Monday, reached the fourth round of the US Open last year, beating Kim Clijsters and Li Na along the way, and can be backed at 80/1 with bet365 to win this month's Australian Open. Five months ago Robson and Murray, 5/2 to clinch the Australian Open title, won the silver medal in the mixed doubles at the London Olympics before the teenager became the first British woman in 22 years to reach a WTA final in the Guangzhou Open. "I really want to be in a Grand Slam final like Andy Murray one day," she said. "That's my goal, really. That's what I'm working towards. At the end of 2011 my ranking was 125. Twelve months on I'm 50 in the world. It's a big jump but I can go a lot further. "I'm hungry to get out there and win lots of matches. I can't wait to get started again."
