Robson eyes seedings boost

 

British number two Laura Robson is keen to move into the top echelon of women's tennis by securing a seeding for the year's three remaining Grand Slams.

 

Robson's career has taken off in the last few months as she reached the fourth round of the US Open and the third round of the Australian Open, with the 19-year-old up to 43 in the world rankings. With the top 32 and a potential seeding not too far away, Robson told reporters: "I want to be seeded at a Grand Slam this year, hopefully Wimbledon. "That would make my life a lot easier and I'll keep working hard to make it happen." Robson, who is 66/1 with bet365 to win Wimbledon this year, has suffered a setback to her seemingly relentless progress in recent weeks as she has struggled with a chest infection. She was beaten in her first match in both Dubai and Doha.
