England - Premier League

Manchester United, 4/11 with bet365 to be crowned Premier League champions, will be without striker Wayne Rooney for several weeks due to a knee injury.

The England international sat out the 4-3 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day which took United seven points clear of Manchester City, with boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitting that Rooney will miss the rest of the festive programme. He told MUTV: "He was trying a volley when he strained a ligament behind the knee. It's unfortunate and he could be out for two to three weeks." Meanwhile, Ferguson felt that his side may have struck a crucial blow in the title race, as they came from behind three times to down the Magpies at Old Trafford, while champions City were losing 1-0 at Sunderland. "It's a really significant result for us, it puts in a good position," Ferguson added.
