Duncan Weir hopes he will be able to cherish his first start in a Scotland shirt this weekend when he comes up against Wales in the Six Nations.

The stand-off replaces Ruaridh Jackson, who has struggled so far in the competition, even though Scotland have managed to beat Italy and Ireland in their last two Six Nations encounters. Scotland can be backed at 2/1 with bet365 to make it three wins in a row by beating Wales and at 40/1 to win the Six Nations title outright. It will be a huge occasion for Weir, who said: "It's a moment I'll hopefully cherish. I'm really looking forward to it and hopefully I can do the coaches justice for giving me the start. "The mood's been good but we also know there's a lot of improvement to do. We're on the training field working really hard and ironing out the creases."
