Saunders takes on Wolves job

England - The Championship

Dean Saunders has taken charge at Championship strugglers Wolves, with the Molineux club 12/1 with bet365 to be relegated for the second successive season.

Saunders has been called on after guiding Doncaster Rovers to second place in League One, with Wolves having shown former boss Stale Solbakken the door after a matter of months in charge. The final straw for the Molineux board was a 1-0 FA Cup third round defeat at non-league Luton Town, with Solbakken upset that he was not given more time to put things right. He told Sky Sports: "I am not a bitter person but, obviously, I think it was the wrong decision. "But it's the name of the game and I sincerely hope Wolves can climb the table and be successful." Saunders' first game in charge comes on Friday evening when Wolves play host to Blackburn Rovers, who are still under the charge of caretaker manager Gary Bowyer.
