With World and UK Championship titles to his name, Murphy is bidding to join the select band of players to have won all three snooker majors and after reaching the UK final last month, 'The Magician' must be rated a live candidate. There are no obvious weaknesses in Murphy's game and he probably cued better than anybody in York, before letting himself down in the final. The bad news is that failure when it mattered most was reminiscent of his underperformance in last year's Masters final, but so long as Murphy keeps knocking on the door, more titles are bound to arrive.
