Terry prepared to bide his time

England - Premier League

Chelsea defender John Terry is unsure when he will be able to return to first-team action although he was happy to come through an Under-21 game unscathed on Thursday.

The 32-year-old England international has missed 16 first-team games since suffering knee ligament damage in a challenge with Liverpool's Luis Suarez two months ago. Chelsea have won only four Premier League matches during Terry's absence and are now 14/1 with bet365 to win the title and 1/6 to finish in the top four. After being replaced at half-time following a goalless first half against Fulham's Under-21 side, Terry said: "I felt fine, totally fine. It's really positive to come through a game and hopefully give myself a chance to be back involved with the first team, although maybe it's too soon to get back starting. "I have to wait my time and be patient and try to get back in the squad first, then the team after that."
