Three wins needed says Martinez

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez thinks that his side need at least three wins from their last five games to escape from the relegation places.

The Latics, who are three points adrift of safety and 8/13 with bet365 to be relegated, find themselves deep in trouble again, but Martinez retains belief that his side can secure their top-flight status. The Spaniard said after a damaging 2-0 defeat at West Ham: "We are a bit tired and the recent games have probably taken their toll. "There is no margin of error. We have five games and we need probably three wins, that is something we can achieve. We need to address not conceding cheap goals." Next up for Wigan is a home clash with Tottenham Hotspur, before they take on West Brom, Swansea City and Manchester City. The final day of the season sees them host fellow strugglers Aston Villa in what could be a winner-takes-all encounter.
