Wimbledon: Womens quarter finals

Sabine Lisicki of Germany knocked out Maria Sharapova yesterday to set up an all German quarter final against Angelique Kerber at this years Wimbledon. Many of the experts are saying that Lisicki has the game to possibly go all the way and few would argue with that based on how she grabbed hold of the deciding set and won it 6-2 against Sharapova after crumbling 6-1 in the second set.

The winner of that all German affair will play the winner of Agnieszka Radwanska and Maria Kirilenko. Meanwhile in the bottom half of the draw then we have an absolutely fascinating encounter between Serena Williams and Petra Kvitova. Here we have the defending champion in Kvitova and the four time winner in Serena Williams.

Serena looks to be returning to form here in London and that could be bad news for Kvitova and the other players in the quarter finals. The winner of that heavyweight tie will play the winner of Victoria Azarenka and Tamira Paszek. Azarenka will be the strong favourite to go through in that match and she has yet to drop a set at this years tournament or even be pushed close in a set.
